What is Double Up Food Bucks and Fresh Rx?

Double Up Food Bucks is the nutrition incentive program for SNAP customers to receive free fresh fruits and veggies when using their EBT Card. The program helps local farmers by encouraging sales of their fresh produce while keeping those food dollars local, which is a bonus to local economies. The DUFB program usually provides about $1 million a year helping families and farmers, but 2020 brought a 40 percent increase. Check the Double Up Food Bucks website for more information - https://www.doubleupnm.org/

Fresh Rx
is a nutrition incentive program offered by the NMFMA that has been expanded for 2021. Markets associated with this program have already been selected for 2021 and have begun the process of implementing this program in their communities.
