The Local Food Connects Conference in 2020 will bring together market managers, farmers, and local food advocates from across the state for two days of information sharing, resources, and inspiration.

We'll be using GoodFoodNM to keep attendees updated about conference updates, reminders, and conference news as it unfolds, so be sure to sign up today! You'll receive one or two conference-related texts a week, and they will end when the conference ends.

9:30 AM - 11:30 PM: New Start Time! Agriculture Policy Forum - The NMFMA's NEW Agriculture Policy Pollinator (APP) program plays an important role in our grassroots advocacy efforts with the New Mexico Legislature. The APP program focuses legislators' attention on agriculture and community health issues that you care about. Join us as we discuss the APP, the role it will play in New Mexico agriculture, and how you can get involved. Everyone is welcome to register for this event. Lunch is included.

12:30 - 5:30 PM: 2020 Local Food Connects Annual Conference; Welcome, State of the Plate, Highlights, Break-out Sessions, Board Elections, and more

Science on a Sphere® uses a 6 foot diameter sphere in a theater to display images of Planet Earth and its various systems (water, land, air, Human impact). An educational product of the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the satellite imagery has been provided by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Enjoy the show and Q&A with Dr. Steele who has selected various narrated segments that present our changing Earth’s climate in a dramatic view.

Registration Information:

  • NMFMA membership benefits allow TWO FREE attendees to attend the NMFMA Annual Conference for farmers' markets, co-ops, and grocery stores

  • All other membership types benefits allow ONE FREE attendee

  • Outlets that want to send more than two people, or other members who want to send more than one, can register as an "Additional Attendee" for $25 each

  • Non-members interested in attending the conference pay $75

Included with your registration:

  • Snacks and beverages both days
  • Lunch on Friday
  • Dinner and reception on Thursday night at Santa Fe Community College

The deadline to reserve a room at the special rate was February 13th. You can still reserve a room at this hotel and will be reimbursed at the group rate. You will have to give your credit card information to hold the reservation and pay for your room upon departure. Includes hot breakfast


Hotel Financial Support:
Farmers' market and other outlet managers will receive full hotel reimbursement based on double occupancy conference rates. If you attend the Agriculture Policy Forum on Thursday morning AND the conference Thursday and Friday, the NMFMA will reimburse two nights of lodging. If you attend the conference starting at 12:30 Thursday - Friday, you will receive reimbursement for one night.
 
If you choose to stay at another hotel, we will reimburse the same rate as the Comfort Inn conference rate. If you choose to get a single room,  you will be reimbursed for half based on double occupancy conference rates. 
 
If you need a roommate to help keep your costs down, please let us know and we will do our best to find one for you.  

A reimbursement check will be written at the conference when you present a copy of your paid receipt.
