Event Description
This meat vendor-focused training provides practical guidance on identifying and addressing common food safety risks at the operational level, based on root cause analyzes and real-world examples. Participants will explore how food safety impacts the local food system, learn to assess hazards, and gain a clear understanding of institutional market requirements for meat products. The training will also cover the necessary steps to becoming an Approved Supplier through the New Mexico Grown Program—a statewide initiative that connects local producers with schools, senior centers, and other institutions committed to serving fresh, locally sourced food. Participants will learn what it means to be part of this program and how to meet its food safety and documentation standards to access new market opportunities.
