Event Description

Due to COVID-19 we have had to cancel all in-person food safety trainings and develop an online training. 
Our invaluable lead food safety trainers—John Garlisch, Bonnie Hopkins, Valerie Smith, and Yvonne Diaz—have been hard at work creating the new distance learning curriculum. Adapted from the NMFMA’s in-person Tiered trainings, these online trainings are tailored for NM’s small to medium size producers. Bringing food safety concepts to life, this training explores, by category, food safety hazards that may be present on farms and highlights practices to mitigate those risks.  The trainers provide hands-on technical assistance to help you apply these concepts directly to your own farm so you can begin writing your own On Farm Risk Assessment or Food Safety Plan, or just increase the level of food safety on your farm.

This Tier 2 training will be a LIVE webinar via Zoom presented by:

Before Tier 2 Training:
  1. Complete video/quiz modules in TalentLMS. (NOTE: The entire 7 part video series and quizzes should take 1-2 hours based on your learning style and can be taken multiple times as needed in order to pass with at least an 80%. Please give yourself enough time to do the Video and Quiz modules BEFORE this Webinar)
  2. Register for your Tier 2 Webinar on TalentLMS. Click the "Register" button once and you are done until your LIVE webinar. (Return to this page to access the Zoom link for your LIVE webinar. Please only enter the meeting at your assigned time.)
  3. Download and/or Print your Farm Risk Assessment found in the "Files" folder of your course. Take a walk around your farm and begin to fill it out. Please be prepared to bring this to the Tier 2 Webinar.

(NOTE: The completion of this course is NOT an approval to sell through the NM Grown Approved Supplier Program, this is an approved course training that goes towards the requirements of the NM Grown Approved Supplier Program)
