On October 26, 2019, at 3:00 p.m., 1300 citizens of Los Alamos and of New Mexico will gather downtown for an attempt to break the current Guinness World Record for most pumpkins carved simultaneously.
In order to ensure the goal of 1300 pumpkins carved simultaneously is met, it is strongly recommended that participants be at least 10 years old. They must carve their own pumpkin for at least five minutes into a traditional Halloween Jack O’ Lantern designs with eyes, nose, and mouth (verified when complete).
Tickets are available for purchase now in person at CB Fox, at 1735 Central Avenue, or the Los Alamos Arts Council (LAAC) Office, on the second floor of Fuller Lodge, for $5.00 (cash or check). Tickets purchased online (see link below) are $7.00. Ticket cost includes a 24+ pound pumpkin (to take home after the Pumpkin Glow) a wristband, and a complimentary Pumpkin Masters Carving Kit. A New Mexico driver’s license or military card of service in NM will be requested for purchases made in person. Online tickets will only be mailed to a New Mexico address. Online Ticket Sales will close Friday, October 18th to ensure ticket arrival before the event.

The lawn of Fuller Lodge will be filled with the eerie, flickering glow of hundreds of carved pumpkins lit for the annual Pumpkin Glow, 6 PM to 9 PM, October 26, 2019. In past years, thousands of people have gazed in wide wonder at glowing visions of scary creatures, funny faces, cute animals, and fancy flowers. We encourage people of all ages and artistic talent to participate. Everyone can carve a pumpkin! The annual Pumpkin Glow is generally held the Saturday before Halloween in conjunction with other Trick-or-Treat on Main Street events.
Pumpkin Glow will be held Saturday, October 26, 2019, from 6 PM to 9 PM, in collaboration with Trick or Treat on Main Street which will be held on October 25. Pumpkin artists drop off their jack-o-lanterns in the afternoon and return after dark to view the hundreds of glowing gourds. Participants can pick up their pumpkins after the event (or choose from the unclaimed works of art).
